Latest Liverpool news: Klopp provides updates on Alexander-Arnold,  Gomez and Oxlade-Chamberlain

Jurgen Klopp spoke about several Liverpool players recovering ahead of the clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold joined the England national camp but withdrew with a back injury, and Klopp wasn’t sure of the defender being 100% fit for the clash at the weekend.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the German believed the club would have to wait and see:

“It is a strange one, it’s not an obvious injury that you can say something is broke or whatever, it’s just a bit annoying actually that he cannot feel really free.”

Klopp, however, was hopeful that the defender would be fit in the next two days ahead of our crucial Premier League clash.

The Ox and Gomez return to training

There was better news for our defence as Klopp confirmed that Joe Gomez had returned to training after three-and-a-half months away injured.

The English centre-back picked up the injury away to Burnley in December, but Klopp claimed that the defender is nearly fit and has to build for the remainder of the campaign.

Another long-term absentee, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was training on a special programme after picking up an injury in the U23 game against Derby.

The German believed the Ox would be fit for full training from next week, which would be another huge boost for the remainder of the season.

Liverpool play Tottenham at the weekend and have the Champions League quarter-finals against Porto coming up.

The Ox and Gomez could play huge roles in our Premier League title race too, and hopefully, they help us pip Manchester City to the crown.
