Liverpool FC transfer news: Liverpool interested in Thorgan Hazard

Borussia Monchengladbach star Thorgan Hazard has become one of the Bundesliga’s top attackers in recent years. He has again enjoyed a fantastic season in the Bundesliga, supplying with 12 goals and 11 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

And the Belgian playmaker’s displays have caught the attention of Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal, report the Sun.

Thorgan Hazard, 26, has told Monchengladbach that he wants to leave at the end of the season. He will have just a year left on his contract in the summer and is valued at around £35 million.

The Sun claims the Belgium international has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time now and is seen as a player that’ll further bolster the Reds’ attacking ranks.

Hazard was signed by Chelsea in 2012 but the Belgian did not make a senior appearance for the club and was instead sent out on loan to Belgian side Zulte Waregem before joining Monchengladbach in 2014. He has starred at Borussia Park for the past five seasons, establishing himself as one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga.

Hazard can fill the void left by Coutinho at Anfield

Liverpool sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January 2018 but is yet to bring in a replacement. Coutinho’s absence has been felt at times this season when the opposition have sat deeper and defended in numbers.

We have thrilling attacking players, with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino starring for the Reds once again this season. But Klopp’s side have lacked invention and flair in the final third at times, thus a creative playmaker has to be on top of our gaffer’s summer wishlist.
