Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds want €40m for Marko Grujic

Marko Grujic has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the Bundesliga this season, and Liverpool could be interested in cashing in on the Serbian.

ESPN reports that the Reds are looking at €40m for the midfielder as Atletico Madrid want to sign the 23-year-old permanently.

The report claims that Atletico could lose out on star Rodri to Manchester City due to a €70m release clause in his contract.

Grujic is on loan at Hertha Berlin but the Bundesliga side won’t be playing in Europe next season after a run of poor results.

Grujic needs to play first-team football next season too

The Serbian helped Cardiff to the Premier League last season and has been great at Berlin.

The 23-year-old has recorded four goals and an assist from 19 Bundesliga appearances this season, and he needs to play first-team football to continue his development.

The Serbian could do a great job if he returns to Anfield, but his playing time would be reduced when compared to this season at Berlin.

The Reds have multiple options for their midfield, and we should see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain return to first-team football soon.

The Englishman hasn’t played the entire season due to a serious knee injury from last season. Naby Keita has shown his brilliance in the past month or so and Fabinho has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
