Liverpool FC transfer news: Julian Brandt wants to stay in Germany next season

Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt wants to stay in Germany despite interest from Liverpool, according to Sky Germany (h/t Mirror).

The 23-year-old has scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for Bayer this season, however, the report claims that Brandt would join Borussia Dortmund if he is to move in the summer.

The German has a couple of years left on his current deal, and the report adds that Leverkusen qualifying for the Champions League could see him stay.

The report claims that Brandt could remain at his current club should they make it to the Europa League but a move away from Germany seems to be out of the question, at the moment.

The youngster has been one of the bright sparks for Leverkusen this season and they need to better Borussia Monchengladbach’s result on the final day to qualify for the Champions League.

Spurs eyeing Brandt too

The report adds that Jurgen Klopp wanted the German in 2017 but had to move for Mohamed Salah instead.

Salah turned out to be a great signing for the Reds and the Egyptian also won the Golden Boot this season along with Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Brandt would make a great signing for us and the report adds that our Champions League final rivals Tottenham are also interested in the 23-year-old.

The Reds made some big signings in the previous summer window and hopefully, we buy the right players this time as well.
