Latest Liverpool news: Fans could face Anfield ban should they sell Champions League final tickets

Liverpool have issued a statement warning the fans from selling their Champions League final tickets. The club could hand out Anfield bans if supporters are caught selling tickets from unauthorised sources.

The Reds warned that fans should not buy tickets from unofficial online sources as it does not guarantee if the tickets are authentic for the showpiece event on June 1.

Liverpool face Tottenham in the Madrid final and could end the season by winning their first piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp. The release adds that Liverpool have created a “test purchase programme” to “protect” fans from buying tickets from unofficial sources.

The statement from the Reds added that other actions could be taken if supporters are caught selling tickets via unofficial sources:

“Sanctions could include ticket-buying suspensions and indefinite bans from Anfield. It could also mean that any tickets for the Champions League final in Madrid are invalid, and purchasers will be unable to gain access to Estadio Metropolitano.”

Tickets being sold for crazy prices online

The Liverpool Echo reports that hours after the limited tickets were handed out to the lucky fans, some were being sold online.

The report claims that prices ranged from €3,000 to €40,000 but the fans have been left a little wanting, given that UEFA did not provide a large number of tickets for the final.

Liverpool are not interested in January move for Ryan Fraser

The Liverpool Echo reveals that the Reds are not interested in a move for Ryan Fraser during January.

The Scot enjoyed a fine season last time around with 14 Premier League assists to his name and is a free agent at the end of the campaign.

Fraser also scored seven goals for the Cherries and has been linked with Liverpool (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Reports (h/t Liverpool Echo) suggested that Fraser would be available on the cheap in January and Jurgen Klopp was set to move for the 25-year-old.

However, the Reds are not interested in the winger and Klopp is pleased with the options at hand (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Klopp doesn’t make too many moves in the winter window and the Liverpool Echo adds that there shouldn’t be any major activity at Anfield during January.

Reds not keen on Bundesliga talent

Denis Zakaria was also linked with the Reds recently, but the Liverpool Echo has poured cold water on that.

The midfielder has starred at Borussia Monchengladbach and has been linked with Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid (h/t Liverpool Echo).

However, the Reds aren’t keen on the Swiss international as they have several options for the midfield (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Liverpool have made a great start to the season and hold an eight-point lead over Chelsea and Leicester City in the Premier League. We defeated Manchester City 3-1 at Anfield to open up a nine-point lead over the Premier League champions too.

The Reds have normally avoided making January signings and it doesn’t make sense to splash the cash unless there are injuries.

Andy Robertson pulls out of Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualifiers

Andy Robertson has pulled out of Scotland’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan due to an injury (h/t BBC).

The Scotland captain is one of the three Premier League stars to miss the international break for the European side but will be with the team for the next two days.

Scotland cannot qualify for Euro 2020 from the group but have a play-off semi-final later in March.

Robertson has been in great form this season for Liverpool, with four assists to his name. The 25-year-old also has a couple of goals to his name, with one being the important equaliser against Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago.

Robbo also assisted Mohamed Salah for our second goal in the 3-1 win over Manchester City at the weekend.

Liverpool need Robertson to stay fit

The Scot might be the best left-back in the world and hopefully, he isn’t out for long. Fortunately, the international break is for a couple of weeks and Robbo can return to action for us against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool have a packed schedule until the New Year and we need all our players to stay fit. James Milner, Joe Gomez and Fabinho could play in Robbo’s position, but they aren’t up there with the Scot in terms of quality.

The Reds hold a nine-point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League and have a great chance of qualifying from their Champions League group.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is a major doubt for Crystal Palace game

The Liverpool Echo reports that Mohamed Salah is a major doubt for the Crystal Palace game after the international break.

Salah hurt his ankle after Fernandinho made a tackle late in the clash and needed some treatment.

The Egyptian picked up the initial injury when he was tackled from behind by Leicester’s Hamza Choudhury.

Salah missed some games for Liverpool due to the problem and didn’t finish the 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa. The forward tried to play on against City after the Fernandinho challenge but had to be subbed off.

Salah to miss Egypt games

The Liverpool star left for the international break and underwent a scan with the Egypt team (h/t Liverpool Echo).

The African giants have decided not to field Salah against Kenya and Comoros (h/t Liverpool Echo).

It will be interesting to see if Salah is fit for the clash against Palace as the Eagles are a tough team to face.

Liverpool host Napoli at Anfield with Champions League qualification a possibility with the right result. The Reds need to keep all their players fit for a packed schedule after this break.

The Club World Cup will add games in the coming weeks, and not having Salah for a long time will be a big blow.

Hopefully, the Egyptian isn’t out for long and can help us continue our great start to the season.
