Latest Liverpool news: Fans could face Anfield ban should they sell Champions League final tickets

Liverpool have issued a statement warning the fans from selling their Champions League final tickets. The club could hand out Anfield bans if supporters are caught selling tickets from unauthorised sources.

The Reds warned that fans should not buy tickets from unofficial online sources as it does not guarantee if the tickets are authentic for the showpiece event on June 1.

Liverpool face Tottenham in the Madrid final and could end the season by winning their first piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp. The release adds that Liverpool have created a “test purchase programme” to “protect” fans from buying tickets from unofficial sources.

The statement from the Reds added that other actions could be taken if supporters are caught selling tickets via unofficial sources:

“Sanctions could include ticket-buying suspensions and indefinite bans from Anfield. It could also mean that any tickets for the Champions League final in Madrid are invalid, and purchasers will be unable to gain access to Estadio Metropolitano.”

Tickets being sold for crazy prices online

The Liverpool Echo reports that hours after the limited tickets were handed out to the lucky fans, some were being sold online.

The report claims that prices ranged from €3,000 to €40,000 but the fans have been left a little wanting, given that UEFA did not provide a large number of tickets for the final.

Arsenal and Chelsea fans are also facing similar problems regarding their ticket allocation for the Europa League final, and have the added problem of travelling to Baku for the clash.
