Liverpool FC transfer news: Bayern Munich interested in RB Leipzig star Timo Werner

AS (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Bayern Munich are interested in negotiating with RB Leipzig for star striker Timo Werner.

The German has scored 19 times for the Bundesliga club this season and recorded seven assists too.

The 23-year-old has refused to sign a new deal with Leipzig (h/t Sky Sports) and has just one year left on his contract.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Liverpool were interested in Werner, however, Bayern are set to weaken one of our rivals too.

Bayern want two more players

The report adds that Bayern want Leroy Sane of Manchester City and Rodri from Atletico Madrid. Losing Werner to another club would be a bit of a blow given that he has the potential to improve further.

The German can play anywhere across the front three and could have been a great signing to provide competition to the Liverpool attackers next season.

Moving to Bayern gives him a great chance of lifting the Bundesliga and they also play in the Champions League regularly.

The Reds have been excellent too under Jurgen Klopp and defeated Bayern at the Allianz Arena on their way to the Champions League final.

It will be interesting to see if Werner does finally sign with Bayern and what transfer plans we have in the summer.
