Latest Liverpool news: Liverpool players celebrate wildly after Champions League triumph

The Liverpool players celebrated wildly at the Wanda Metropolitano after their 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Champions League final.

Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi got the goals for the Reds in the win as Tottenham gave a tough fight for the title. Liverpool were in control throughout the game and were only troubled in the final 15 minutes or so.

The players were pleased to win the title and no one deserved it more than Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian had to be subbed off in the final last season after injuring his shoulder but opened the scoring after just one minute, via a spot-kick.

Another player that had a huge role in the win was Alisson. The Brazilian was adjudged as the Man of the Match, thanks to a few great saves in the second half.

Virgil van Dijk had the right message after the game as he celebrated the sixth Champions League title at the club.

Incredible words by two keepers

Simon Mignolet has been an excellent professional and the Belgian posted about the win too.

The back-up keeper hasn’t played much this season for us, but he was extremely pleased to have collected a Champions League medal.

One of the first players to congratulate the team on the win was Loris Karius. The German did not have a great final to remember last season, but the Liverpool star is on loan at Besiktas. This was a great gesture from him.

Trent Alexander-Arnold posted a great post of how far he has come through the ranks at Liverpool.

The youngster is a Liverpool fan through and through, and the right-back played a crucial role in our road to the Champions League final.

James Milner didn’t start the final but he came on in the second half to provide us with some protection and composure.

Georginio Wijnaldum also posted an emotional message about what it means to win the Champions League, and the players certainly deserved it after such an incredible season.

There isn’t much that went wrong for us this season and the next target has to be the Premier League title.
