Liverpool FC transfer news: Nicolas Pepe to snub Liverpool interest for Bayern Munich move

The Mirror reports that Lille winger Nicolas Pepe will snub interest from Liverpool and sign for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich instead.

The Ivorian had a wonderful season with Les Dogues as they finished second in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain. Pepe scored 22 times and provided 11 assists in 38 Ligue 1 games last season and got one goal in the Coupe de France.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Pepe to increase competition for the attacking spots in the team.

Manchester United are also interested in the 22-year-old, however, Bayern seem set to win the race for the £70million-rated attacker, according to the report.

The Bundesliga giants have a lot of work to do in the summer as they look to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Liverpool need cover for their attackers

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are possibly two of the best attackers in the world, however, we could do with some cover for the pair.

Salah and Mane will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations in the summer, and we were a little fortunate that the pair did not pick up serious injuries last season.

Jurgen Klopp needs to build on the great Champions League win as we will play in several competitions next season.

The Reds have to spend in the summer to keep the progress going, and it is important that we sign another decent winger to support Mane and Salah.
