Latest Liverpool transfer news: Fiorentina boss claims Federico Chiesa is not for sale

Liverpool would be unable to land Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa even if they offer the club €100m (h/t Metro).

The 21-year-old has been one of the bright spots for the Serie A side, and he scored 12 goals and provided three assists for them in the previous season.

The youngster was also part of Italy’s U21 Euro side and scored three goals from three games.

Chiesa is capable of playing in several positions in the final third, and the Metro claims that the Reds and Juventus are interested in the Italian.

Rocco Commisso shared the experience of selling Roberto Baggio to Juventus for a then world record fee, and the Fiorentina owner wasn’t going to make the same mistake with Chiesa.

The Fiorentina boss told Il Sore 24 Ore (h/t Metro) that Chiesa was not for sale:

“I will not make the same mistake with Chiesa that was made with Baggio.

“Roby Baggio was the greatest player ever and they sold him just for money.

“I don’t know if there are any particular clauses in Chiesa’s contract, but as far as I am concerned, he is our champion and I won’t sell him even for €100m (£90m).”

Commisso further spoke about building something great at Fiorentina and he wants to build a new stadium for La Viola.

Chiesa is one of the brightest players in the Serie A

The 21-year-old is a player with immense potential, and he could become one of the best in the world under the right manager.

The Italian would be a great purchase for the Reds, but it seems we have to try for other targets.
