Latest Liverpool transfer news: Reds to target versatile forward after Elliott signing

The Mirror reports that Liverpool are likely to continue their summer spending after signing Fulham’s Harvey Elliott.

The 16-year-old holds the record for being the youngest player in the Premier League, and the report claims that the Reds saw off competition from PSG and Real Madrid to land Elliott.

The Reds have been busy in the summer and landed another youngster earlier in the window. Young centre-back Sepp van den Berg signed from PEC Zwolle and is already a part of first-team training ahead of pre-season.

The report claims that Liverpool are likely to sign another versatile forward to add options in the wide areas.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been excellent under Jurgen Klopp, however, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri can act as cover for the pair.

Origi and Shaqiri are not on the same levels as Salah and Mane, and the Swiss attacker has returned to training carrying an injury.

Firmino, along with Mane and Salah, has been involved in summer tournaments, and it will be interesting to see who the Reds sign this summer.
