Latest Liverpool news: Harvey Elliott to feature in first-team after transfer from Fulham

The Liverpool Echo claims that the Reds will use Fulham’s Harvey Elliott in the first-team after the 16-year-old joins the club.

The report adds that Liverpool are close to landing the Fulham starlet, who became the youngest player to feature in the Premier League.

The English midfielder’s youth contract has expired at Fulham, and the report adds that Liverpool have seen off competition from Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona to land the 16-year-old.

The report claims that the deal for Elliott should be completed this week, and the Reds have no plans to send him to the youth teams.

The starlet is set to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans, and the report adds that the player will learn more alongside the first-team than playing with the youngsters.

Elliott can play out wide too, and his inclusion in the first-team isn’t the only one this summer.

Sepp van den Berg was the first signing of the summer, and the 17-year-old defender was already with the first-team as the players returned for pre-season training.

The Dutch defender is an excellent talent for the future, and it will be interesting to see his progress in the coming months.

Liverpool see some other first-teamers return

The Reds welcomed Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri back on Monday and other international stars should be coming to Melwood soon.

Alisson and Roberto Firmino should return at the end of July after helping the national side lift the Copa America.
