Latest Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp hints at low-key summer window for Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp claimed that the summer window could be a low-key one for Liverpool after their first pre-season game.

The Reds defeated Tranmere 6-0 with youngster Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster a couple of the scorers from the game.

Liverpool have already signed young defender Sepp van den Berg, and the Mirror claims that Harvey Elliott from Fulham is set to join too.

The Reds have been linked with Marco Asensio and Nicolas Pepe (h/t Mirror) and Klopp was asked if there were be any transfers after the 6-0.

The German replied that he already got the transfers in and wasn’t expecting a big summer (h/t Mirror):

“We brought them in already, only you don’t realise it.

“Rhian Brewster; Oxlade-Chamberlain didn’t play last year; all the young boys today. They are all new players for us, that’s all good.”

Klopp added that the transfer window is open till 8 August and the Premier League closes its window before the other leagues.

The German, however, claimed that it would not be a big window:

“We will see what we do but I don’t think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time.”

Liverpool already have a great starting XI

The Reds were extremely busy last season as four new players joined the side. Alisson and Fabinho were excellent while Xherdan Shaqiri had his part to play too.

Naby Keita was the only one that didn’t impress enough and should feature more in the upcoming campaign.
