The report claims that United see the attacker as a replacement for Inter Milan linked Romelu Lukaku.

Pepe was one of the stars in the Ligue 1 season last time around and only finished second to Kylian Mbappe in the goalcoring charts.

The 24-year-old seems set for great things in the future and it will be interesting to see where he ends up in the summer window.

Reports (h/t Liverpool Echo) had suggested that the Ivorian was stalling for a move to Liverpool.

Liverpool do not want to spend big this summer

The Reds were one of the biggest spenders in the previous summer window, but do not want to splash the cash this time around (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Liverpool have only signed Sepp van den Berg this summer and have seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana regain fitness after injury-plagued seasons.

Pepe would be a great signing for the Reds and provide cover for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, however, Liverpool have Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent who can do that job.
