Dejan Lovren provides injury update on Instagram – wishes his team luck
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has taken to Instagram to offer an update on his injury while also sending his best wishes to his teammates as they aim to win the Club World Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
Lovren had gone close to becoming a world champion with Croatia a year ago only to lose 4-2 to France in the FIFA World Cup final. Liverpool had given him another opportunity to earn a World Championship Crown only for him to limp off injured in the Champions League tie against Red Bull Salzburg.
Although there has been no official word from the club, Lovren is expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the month with what appears to be a muscle injury. (h/t Liverpoolfc.com)
This did not stop him from sending his best wishes to his teammates as they prepare to face CONCACAF Champions League winners Monterrey in the semifinals at Doha this Wednesday.
Taking to Instagram, Lovren offered an update on his condition.
“Not the best time to be injured, but as u know me I will be back again stronger”
“Hard work begins behind the scenes so I can be asap on the pitch.”
“In the meantime I wish my teammates and Liverpool FC all the luck at the club world cup. Boys come back with another”
