Liverpool may have to pay more to land Sam McCallum from Coventry City

Liverpool will have to pay more for Coventry City’s 19 -year-old defender Sam McCallum according to Coventry City legend, Steve Ogrizovic. (h/t Coventry Telegraph)

The former Liverpool keeper believes McCallum’s screamer in the 4-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers will only drive the talented youngster’s price up.

The defender had a good game against the League One leaders as he scored the opening goal and also won a penalty for his side.

A graduate of Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy, McCallum has made 29 appearances for Coventry scoring 2 goals. (h/t Whoscored)

A versatile player, the 19-year-old can play anywhere on the left flank while also being able to deputize at right-back if needed.

With James Milner having to deputize for Andy Robertson at left-back, Liverpool could be in the market for a specialist in the position.
