Jurgen Klopp’s time as Liverpool manager has been far from ordinary. The German has brought back the belief in fans and the players alike and one of the most notable examples being Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno.
However, what comes as a surprise is that Klopp is in the market for a left-back, believed to be French club FC Lorient’s 21 year old Raphael Guerreiro. Whether this is fuelled by recent speculation regarding Real Madrid’s interest in Moreno or the long pending replacement of Jose Enrique in the squad, we are yet to know.
The Portuguese defender is slowly building a reputation for himself as an attacking full-back. Guerreiro can also play further up the pitch, bringing certain flexibility to the squad at Anfield, should he decide to move.
However, we do not believe this is a move that will occur any time soon unless Klopp decides to sell the player he has gotten the best out of over the last few weeks. At 21 years, Guerreiro’s major concern is quality playing time and we do not envisage a scenario which affords him that at Anfield going by the ongoing trend.
