Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Watford
After being winless for two weeks in the premier league, Liverpool will be looking to get three points on Sunday when they face the in-form Watford at the Vicarage Stadium(Home ground of Watford). The Hornets, who got promoted to the premier league this season is in fine form and is placed seventh on the points table while Liverpool is placed 9th. But, there is only one point gap between the two clubs. Jurgen Klopp is well aware that Watford away won’t be an easy game.
Here is Liverpool’s predicted line-up for the match.
Goalkeeper – Adam Bogdan
There are fans who want Mignolet to be benched and they want to see Adam Bogdan getting a chance. Bogdan could start this week, but it is not due to pressure from the fans. Reports say that Mignolet has got a hamstring injury, which makes him a major doubt for Sunday. This could be Bogdan’s perfect chance to take away Mignolet’s spot.
Defenders – Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Alberto Moreno
Liverpool’s lack of options for the full back spots could get solved this week. Jon Flanagan has been pictured in training for Liverpool ahead of the Watford clash. He could be on the bench on Sunday. However, Clyne has been consistent for Liverpool and he will be continuing as Liverpool’s right back on Sunday. Liverpool also do not have much options for the centre back spot. Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho are the four senior team centre backs Liverpool have at the moment. Lovren got injured last week against West Brom, fortunately for Liverpool Mamadou Sakho returned to full training. Jurgen Klopp said in his Pre-Watford press conference that Mamadou Sakho could start for Liverpool on Sunday. With that being said, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho is expected to start for Liverpool against Watford. Alberto Moreno is the premier league defender with most chances created (31 chances created). He has been in fine form and will continue as Liverpool’s left back.
Midfielders – Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino
James Milner started for Liverpool last week, but Klopp confirmed in his Pre-Watford press conference that Milner has got a calf injury and won’t play on Sunday. That gives Lucas Leiva the chance to come back into the team. The Brazilian has been in fine form and he will do the defensive midfielder’s job pretty well. Emre Can looks lot better under Jurgen Klopp and he is playing in his preferred position. He has been in fine form and now he will be looking to add goals and assists to his game. Last week we saw Jordan Henderson return to the premier league from an injury with a goal and an assist. Liverpool captain will be looking to inspire Liverpool to win on Sunday. Philippe Coutinho is Liverpool’s key player and he should be on top of his game for Liverpool to win the game solidly. Roberto Firmino on the other hand, is not having a good time at the moment. His form is down and he will be looking to get it back. Firmino will be looking to combine well with Coutinho and help Liverpool to victory.
Striker – Divock Origi
Christian Benteke started for Liverpool in the previous three premier league matches, but he has been unimpressive. Origi on the other hand, is looking confident since his Hat-trick against Southampton in the Capital One quarter-finals. He scored Liverpool’s equalizer against West Brom last week in the 96th minute of the game. We expect Jurgen Klopp to give Origi a chance.
