The transfer window is almost here and it is a time when things can change. Transfer windows are always exciting times for fans. Who will buy whom? Who will go where? There are lot of rumours already flying around.
If Jurgen Klopp is to be believed the winter transfer window might not be very exciting for the Liverpool fans. Klopp himself said that he is not a big fan of the January transfer window. He is confident with his current time and he is willing to wait until the end of season to see whom he should bring in and who he should sell. However, there are a few positions where Liverpool will need reinforcements, and we think Klopp should try and sign these three players.
“If I was Klopp, I’d be thinking goalkeeper, two centre-backs and a holding midfield player”. This was what Jamie Carragher had to say about Liverpool’s January transfer needs. Here are three players Liverpool should consider buying in January:
1. Joel Matip:
Carragher’s opinion that Liverpool should buy two centre backs might be too much, but we can expect atleast one centre back to come to Liverpool and Joel Matip is a great option. The Cameroonian has made it clear that he wants to leave Schalke and has refused to sign a contract extension with the German club. Several rumours said that Liverpool are willing to sign a pre-contract with the player.
According to these reports, Matip will join Liverpool in July for a free transfer. But later reports came out that Liverpool want to sign Matip early for a cut price of 4 million. These reports came in after Martin Skrtel got injured. Matip is only 24 years old and is 195 cm tall. Martin Skrtel is growing old and is 31 years old. The Slovakian is prone to mistakes and is often a liability for Liverpool. Matip is a perfect replacement for Skrtel. He is tall, strong and a goal threat.
