2. Alexandr Kokorin:

Kokorin must be a surprise name on the list, but he is here mainly because his contract is expiring in the summer. A young, talented striker for free will make a great deal for any team. Kokorin is 24 years old and plays for Dynamo Moscow. He is a very talented striker. Kokorin has been linked with Liverpool’s premier league rivals, Arsenal, for more than a year now, but they have not made any moves for the Russian youngster.

As of now, Kokorin wants to move to a new club and is not willing to renew his contract with Dynamo Moscow. Kokorin to Liverpool for a free transfer will be a big bargain signing. We cannot expect him to be Sturridge’s direct replacement, but if the youngster is given some time, he could become a key asset for Liverpool.

3. Danny Ings:

Why look elsewhere when you have got a talented striker like Ings already in your team? Don’t expect Ings to do some fancy skills with his feet, but he can give you goals and goals are what matters. Danny Ings came to Liverpool for a free transfer during the summer transfer window of 2015. He was given the golden opportunity to shine when Sturridge and Benteke were injured. It was in September that Ings started to shine in Liverpool colours as he scored three goals in September (in all competitions) and was named as Liverpool’s player of the month for September.

Ings was slowly establishing himself at Liverpool and that is when injury struck him. He was unfortunate to get injured when he was in a fine form and it is expected that he won’t be playing again for Liverpool this season. Next season will be a new beginning for Ings. It will be a time when he will have to put away his setback and return as a stronger and better player than before. Current Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has not got the opportunity to work with the Englishman. Ings is a player suitable to Klopp’s style as he has the work rate and determination to shine under the German manager. When he returns from injury and works a while with Klopp, then he could be a long term option for Liverpool.
