Talking Tactics: Three Things That Liverpool And Klopp Needs To Do To Beat Arsenal

Liverpool face an uphill task when they host Arsenal in the upcoming league tie. As if the poor form of some of their stars was not enough, the side has been severely plagued with injuries, giving Klopp a headache. Here are the three things we believe the Liverpool manager must ensure to get a positive result on Wednesday.

Contain Mesut Ozil

Liverpool have been very susceptible defensively and Arsene Wenger will be drawing his match plan keeping his opposition’s defensive frailties in mind and no better man to be at the helm of affairs at the moment than Mesut Ozil. The German has been phenomenal this year raking in assists with every passing match day. With 16 assists and 3 goals, Ozil has directly contributed to more than half of Arsenal’s goals this season.

It is widely believed that Klopp will go with Emre Can and Lucas to restrict the time and space available to Ozil and his counterparts. Emre Can remains Liverpool’s best bet of restricting Ozil with his physicality, work rate and ability to read the game and Klopp will look to ensure that Can does not lose Ozil from his sites. This battle between the brains and brawns of Klopp, Ozil and Can will definitely be the most important determining factor in the game.
