Club’s fans and former players always have something to say about the direction in which the club is heading. Nothing is different for Liverpool as well. Their recent mid-table like performances has seen the club not win the Premier League for two decades.
Now in Jurgen Klopp they have a good chance of turning the table and achieving that. Ex-player John Riise believes Liverpool needs to sign at least four players and has told Jurgen Klopp to pay heed. Riise has asked Klopp to sign a strong spine for Liverpool by purchasing a goalkeeper, center back, central midfielder and a center forward.
“I think that the central lines in every department have to be changed. I think we need a goalkeeper, a real leader at centre-back, a central midfielder and also a centre-forward,” Riise told Goal.
“Daniel Sturridge is a fantastic striker but he spends more time on the sidelines than playing – and that is not good for the club.”
Simon Mignolet has not been the player he was expected to be and Liverpool are lacking a leader at the back. Since the departure of Gerrard the central midfield role is a bit of a mystery and Sturridge as a forward is just not reliable with his injury problems.
