According Feberbache’s Josef de Souza, Alex Teixeira may still come to Liverpool soon. In an interview with Esporte Interativo Teixeria’s friend Souza has mentioned that the Brazilian is still interested to join Liverpool in spite of moving to Jiangsu Suning.
The player’s move to Liverpool was a lengthy transfer saga between Shakhtar and Liverpool throughout the January transfer window. Shakhtar did not want to budge on the valuation of Teixeira and in spite of the player wanting to leave Ukraine, the deal never happened.
Later, when the offer came from Jiangsu Suning, the player was sold to the CSL side and Teixeira has landed up in China. Not to be disheartened the player is still on with his original plan to move to Anfield and hopes that the dream will be realized soon. Teixeira also spoke to Coutinho who too have confirmed the player’s desire to join the Merseyside club in the future.
Souza’s comments from the interview below.
“I had the opportunity to talk to him on two occasions. The first one was when Coutinho called me asking for his phone number to talk to him because there were those rumours saying he could go Liverpool and I gave it. I spoke to Alex, and really, he said that things were well advanced.”
“And then I talked to him again, when he signed for the club from China. And Alex, I can say that he was totally willing to go to the Premier League. And he still keeps that dream, from what he told me, in his heart.
“But unfortunately the bid that the Chinese club made was far beyond what Skahktar, in first place, could receive from the English club. Liverpool wanted to pay €30m and the guys paid €50m. So it’s something out of the ordinary. And the club accepted.
