Liverpool management has announced that Jurgen Klopp will be handed a large transfer fund in the summer to overhaul the squad so that the Reds can challenge for the title. As a result, the manager has started shortlisting the players he wants and putting them on his wishlist.
As per the Guardian, Mario Gotze of Bayern Munich, Piotr Zielinski of Udinese, Ben Chilwell of Leicester are all on the list and will be chased with aggression in the summer. Klopp is interested to shape the team to his liking and create another team like Borussia Dortmund that toppled Bayern Munich during his reign.
Several of the club’s current players are also expected to leave. Joe Allen, Christian Benteke and Mario Balotelli are the three players club is willing to sell. Kolo Toure and Jose Enrique could also move out of the club as their contract expires in the summer.
The rebuilding project has already began with Joel Matip and Marko Grujic set to join the club next season.
