Manchester United vs Liverpool: Confirmed Lineups

Liverpool Manutd

The game in the enemy’s territory has arrived finally. After a thumping 2-0 victory against United at Anfield, Reds are preparing to make an entry into the last eight of the Europa League with the second leg encounter at Old Trafford. Manchester United have overcome a two-goal deficit four times in their European history.

Liverpool had surprisingly got a whole week to prepare for the much-awaited match while Man United faced West Ham in the FA cup. Both the managers sounded pretty confident in their press conferences.

After the criticism of fans and former players like Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes alike, LVG is under a lot of pressure to deliver a strong performance against the bitter rivals. Van Gaal has said that the fans deserve a good performance against Liverpool. Klopp has warned the players that it won’t be a holiday against United.

Players to watch out for:

Roberto Firmino is the man in form for Liverpool and has a goal-laden 2016 to his name. United’s defense will have to be on their toes if they want a result at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial is the main attacking threat of United and the Frenchman has been in good form and can cause problems for Liverpool’s defense.

Key stats:

1. Man United have won 12 of their 14 matches against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

2. In his last seven games against United, Daniel Sturridge has scored 5 and assisted 1 goal.

3. Liverpool are unbeaten in Europe since February 2015.

Predicted score:

Man United: 1- 1 Liverpool
