The Best And The Worst Rated Liverpool Players vs Tottenham: Masterclass From Dejan Lovren

Liverpool managed to get one point from a crucial encounter against Tottenham Hotspurs. It was a cracker of a game with both sides managing to create a great deal of chances on goal. Liverpool took the lead in the 51st minute with a brilliant move combined by Sturridge and Coutinho which ended with the Brazilian hitting the back of the net. However, their lead lasted for only a matter of 12 minutes with Harry Kane scoring a brilliant equalizer for the Spurs. Here is a look at how Klopp’s men fared in the fixture.

Liverpool Player Ratings vs Tottenham

Simon Mignolet – 6

The Belgian goalkeeper made a few errors and a couple of clumsy clearances. He did manage to save a few attempts but his presence was not that commanding in between the posts.

Nathaniel Clyne – 6.5

Clyne had a decent game as he managed to make a few runs at the flanks.

Dejan Lovren – 8

Lovren

Lovren had a fantastic game at the back with some crucial tackles and interceptions in and around the box denying Spurs a lot of chances at goal.

Mamadou Sakho – 5

Unlike his counterpart, Sakho had a horrible game. The center back gave away many loose balls and also was not decisive at the back. Had it not been the efforts of Lovren, Liverpool could have easily conceded more goals.

Alberto Moreno – 5.5

The left-back was not at this defensive best as he was clearly beaten by Spurs on the breaks as well as on direct attacks. Moreno will need to show better defensive performances if he wants to make a place as a permanent fullback.

Jordan Henderson – 7.5

The skipper was having a decent game as his passes were clicking and he also managed to make some crucial tackles and interceptions

Emre Can – 6

The defensive midfielder did not have a great game. He was also booked for a foul which means the German will be missing his next 2 games for Liverpool.

James Milner – 6

Milner did not manage to help much from the flanks and also in terms of deliveries into the box, his role was insignificant. In attacking games like these, Klopp certainly expects more from him.

Adam Lallana – 7

The Englishman had a good game as he created a couple of chances forcing Lloris to make brilliant saves. He did not penetrate much inside the box to create assists but his presence was noticeable for the Reds.

Philippe Coutinho – 8

Man of the match for Liverpool, the in-form Brazilian managed to score a goal and was very influential playing as a second striker to Daniel Sturridge.

Daniel Sturridge – 6.5

Sturridge had a brilliant one-on-one chance in the first half but couldn’t convert. He also had a heading opportunity in the second half and could have doubled Liverpool’s lead but he was a bit lackluster in front of the goal today.
