According to Gerrard Pique, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is not going anywhere from Barcelona in the summer as reported by LiverpoolEcho.

In the recent times, the Barcelona goalkeeper has been heavily linked with Liverpool as he is said to be unhappy not to be the undisputed no.1 in the Barcelona team. Currently, he shares responsibility with Bravo almost equally and neither of them have been able to establish themselves as the first choice goalkeeper so far.

Liverpool on the other hand, are looking for a goalkeeping option that is better than Simon Mignolet. With transfers from English teams becoming increasingly difficult the Reds feel that Ter Stegen will fit into the Reds’ philosophy perfectly. Mignolet has been inconsistent this season to put it mildly. Even though he has renewed his contract just recently Liverpool are still looking for reinforcement. Ter Stegen seems like a popular choice but Pique thinks otherwise.

“Since you’re asking me, Ter Stegen isn’t going. No one wants to leave Barcelona,” the centre-back told Mundo Deportivo. “We are Barca, and to be at this club is the greatest happiness a player could have. This club, this city, this fanbase, we have it all. I’m convinced everyone will stay.”
