Liverpool Transfer Update
Jurgen Klopp has been planning a summer overhaul for Liverpool so that they could challenge for the title next year. So far the progress has been impressive and all signs points at the right direction. A few more key players and we could see a Liverpool side similar to the one that was indomitable in the 80s.
One player who was heavily touted to join Liverpool and pull all the strings was playmaker Ilkay Gundogan. Given that the player has earlier played under Jurgen Klopp and no other clubs in contention the move was considered an easy transfer deal. However, that has become complicated since the Sun has reported that that Pep Guardiola has decided to move the Gundogan to replace Yaya Toure at Manchester City.
The Report also states that a dialogue between two parties have begun and City are set to offer £25 million for the player. While Liverpool hierarchy will hand over a war chest to Klopp in the summer transfer window competing with the likes of Manchester City may not be feasible for the club.
