An exuberant team with an excited manager makes its way to Dean Court as Liverpool play Bournemouth in their 32nd premiere league fixture. Liverpool travel to Bournemouth at the back of an outstanding win against Dortmund on Thursday and the fans are now expecting more from the side. Klopp will be looking for all three points as Liverpool eye for the European spot. The Reds are currently nine points behind the 4th placed Manchester City and a win at Dean Court could cut this gap to six points.

Team News

Liverpool will be without the services of their in-form midfielder Emre Can as he faces a suspension in this game. Their skipper Henderson is also out with a ligament injury and Jurgen Klopp will have to make adjustments in the midfield. Bournemouth will also miss their striker Afobe, midfielder Arter and defender Adam Smith due to injuries. However, the Poppies are expecting a return of their winger Stanislas for Sunday’s clash.

With Henderson and Can out, Klopp will utilize the services of Allen and Lucas in the midfield along with Milner. Also, the manager might consider giving Stewart his second game in the defensive position as he displayed an impressive performance against Stoke City. Klopp might also be tempted to give Ojo some more game-time. The manager will not want his team to get carried away by their recent success and his target will surely be to get all the three points. Bournemouth are known for their tireless running and Klopp might just want to exploit this and urge for the counter attacks which have proved very effective this season. The Poppies are currently placed 11th and are comfortably away from the relegation zone. They are known to play confident football with a tremendous work-rate. With Stanislas returning, he can add with his pace from the sides. Liverpool will need to rely on the work-rate of James Milner to win the midfield battle.

Recent Form

Liverpool: WWLDW (in the league)

Liverpool are on the run with some impressive results in their last five league games and would want that to continue in this fixture as well. Their last game was a brilliant 4-1 win against Stoke City without most of their key players.

Bournemouth: WWLLW

Bournemouth were having a good run before back to back defeats against top sides – Tottenham and Manchester City. They did manage all three points with a win against Aston Villa who face relegation this season. The Bournemouth manager is aware of the threat Jurgen Klopp’s side carries and this is what he had to say,” They are a strong side and he is imprinting his ideas on them, you can see that with the way they press and work. We will anticipate a hard-working and full of energy Liverpool team.”
