3 Reasons Why Philippe Coutinho Should Win The PFA Young Player Award

With the season coming to an end, the race for the individual awards have started with the nominations being out by the FA. Every season the players who have performed well get their due when the season comes to a halt and this season there are a lot of worthy players who have worked their socks off and produced magic on the field.

The PFA young player of the year have some promising talents that have mesmerized and made the Premier League even more exciting. Tottenham Hotspurs’ title challenge was mainly due to the exploits of Harry Kane and Dele Alli. Both have been in scintillating form and are destined to start at the Euros too. Stoke’s Jack Butland is nominated for his breakthrough season for the Potters.

Liverpool’s arch rivals, Everton have two of their players nominated for the big award. Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku have been exceptional at times for the Toffees and they have been rightly rewarded. Last but definitely not the least, Philippe Coutinho completes the six man shortlist for the PFA young player of the year award. Let’s take a look at the three reasons why Coutinho will win the award ahead of the likes of Alli and Lukaku :

1. Flair :

There is something about Coutinho that makes him breathtaking. Though Kane has scored more goals and is involved in a title race, there are not many players who can emulate the type of play that the reds have become accustomed to with the Brazilian. He has destroyed defenses, bamboozled the opponents and has proven himself in the most competitive league in the world. No one had counted on him when he arrived from Inter Milan but he has proved his critics wrong and how.
