Allen Should Stay: 4 Key Notes From Bournemouth vs Liverpool

4 Key Notes From Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Liverpool made a trip to Bournemouth after their heroics at Anfield against Borussia Dortmund. Klopp’s men are high on confidence after their side progressed in the semi-finals of the Europa league. The confidence showed in their performance on Sunday as Liverpool managed a win over Bournemouth. Manager Jurgen Klopp made several changes in the line-up and it paid off as his team captured all three points. Here are some of the talking points from the game.

Sturridge is back

Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge had a fantastic game at Bournemouth as the striker not only managed to score a goal but managed to hit the crossbar and forcing a great save from the keeper on one occasion. Sturridge also showed his flair with the back-flip shot leading to the first goal. The no. 15 is returning to his best and has managed six goals in his last eight appearances. His fitness is also improving and gradually he is returning back to the form which he had couple of seasons back. There were rumors about Sturridge wanting to move in the summer but his recent displays will certainly put a rest to all the speculations.

Allen should stay

Joe Allen has had a brilliant run of form lately and with injuries to Henderson and Emre Can, Allen has taken up the responsibility to lead Liverpool’s midfield. The Welshman has been very sharp in terms of possession and playmaking in the last few games. He was scrutinized about his future at the club but after his consistency, the fans as well as the manager might think of not letting him go. Jurgen Klopp also went on to say that Allen deserves a future at Liverpool and was hinting at a possible contract extension.

New prospects

Klopp made a lot of changes to his personnel for the game and gave opportunities to six players who have joined the ranks of the club straight from the academy. Ojo, Ward, and Randall had decent games and impressed the manager with their commitment and hard-work. Klopp is certainly making his troops ready for the future and these players are very promising and are definitely interesting prospects for the manager.

A Team Effort

Jurgen Klopp got furious with one of the reporters when he asked Klopp about the performance of Daniel Sturridge. Klopp rightly mentioned that it was a team effort and a single player was not responsible for the win. The manager emphasized on the fact that his vision is to make Liverpool play as a single unit and not rely on any individual players.
