Scout Report: Who Is This 22-Year-Old Belgian Wonderkid Liverpool Wants To Sign

Liverpool are nearing one of the most important transfer Windows in their recent history. The competition just got a notch higher with the arrival of Conte, Guardiola and Mourinho to the rival clubs and with no Europe, it will be very difficult to compete with the big clubs in the transfer window. United, Chelsea and Man City are all going to spend big on new players and Klopp must devise a strategy to counter the rivals and get an upper hand over them.

The first priority that was the goalkeeper has been sorted as Loris Karius is expected to sign for the reds in a couple of days. Another centre back is on Klopp’s wishlist as Toure and Skrtel are both expected to leave the club. That leaves an attacking position to be fulfilled and Mario Gotze is the name that is in everyone’s minds to become the next big thing at Liverpool. But the reds cannot be sure until he signs as he has expressed his desire to impress Carlo Ancelloti and for this scenario, the reds must look for alternatives and one such alternative is the Belgian wonderkid, Dennis Praet.

Born in a small city of Leuven, Praet joined Belgium’s Giants, Genk when he was just 8 years old. He left the club in 2010 for their rivals Anderlecht and has come into prominence since then. He has grown in stature since his move to Anderlecht and a lot of big clubs are monitoring his next move and the reds are one of the many clubs that can be the next destination for the 21 year old.

Praet has over 170 appearances for Anderlecht and has scored 23 goals for the Belgian giants. He can play anywhere in the attacking third and is known for cutting the defense with a brilliant pass and has delivered many assists to his club. He has many tricks in his bag and is known to unlock defenses and take on the full backs. He is like a younger but technically sound Adam Lallana kind of a player.

The talented youngster has his weaknesses too and is not known to contribute defensively and does not track back when needed. Along with that, he has a little frame which can be a hindrance when playing in the tough Premier League. He will need to work hard to improve these shortcomings ID he wants to impress the boss, Jurgen Klopp.

Overall, Dennis Praet is a wonderful talent and can add sparkle to the league and can become a brilliant addition to the reds squad. But he should be considered if the pursuit of Mario Gotze fails and should be just contemplated as an alternative to Gotze.
