In a strange tale of hide and seek game, Koln have denied reports that Liverpool has bid for their player Jonas Hector, but at the same time revealed that they would be okay to let the player leave for a fee of £24 million.

In the recent reports last week, Hector was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool with multiple sources saying that the Reds have bid for the defender. However the Koln sporting director has denied the report that a deal was underway for the player with a transfer fee of £12 million. Speaking to Express Jorg Schmadtke has denied any such reports and have told the journalists that an offer of £24 million would be accepted for Hector.

“There’s nothing in it. There is no question of an offer from Liverpool,” he told German newspaper Express.

It is strange that the sporting director of the club is attempting to bargain with the Reds over the media. Hector has appeared 34 times last season and is set to feature for Germany at Euro 2016.
