Transfer season is here and football fans around the world are curiously waiting to see which club buys whom. The transfer window officially opens on July 1st, but big clubs are not willing to wait until then and they have announced some signings already.
The Premier League got a lot better with the arrival of world class managers like Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. The race for the title and top four would be a great sight to watch next season. All these managers have already started working with their squads. And the fans of English clubs are waiting to see who joins their clubs. But transfer window is not wholly about incomings, clubs will have to sell players too.
At the end of every season, to improvise a team a rebuilding is required. And that includes selling players who are not fit enough for the club. Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, is know for selling players who are not good enough without any sympathy. And we can expect that from him again. Let’s look at these Liverpool who are not fit for Liverpool:
1. Martin Skrtel:
The Slovakian Centre Back has been at Liverpool since 2008 and was a defensive rock, but now he is in his 30s and is not the defender he used to be. Skrtel used to be a starting eleven player at the start of the season, but if we look closely we could easily identify Skrtel as the weak link in the Liverpool side. There heavy rumours that the 31 year old will be leaving Liverpool this summer, with Middlesbrough and Besiktas looking to sign him. And it looks like it’s going to happen. A 6 Million move to Turkey is the likely thing to happen.
2. Christian Benteke:
Liverpool’s second most signing couldn’t just make it. The Belgian international was going by Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool last season from Aston Villa for a fee of about 32 Million, but Benteke was not able to reproduce his Aston Villa form with Liverpool. The 25 year old managed to score a total of 10 goals and 6 assists for Liverpool in all competitions this season. This stat has kept his value from falling down. By the end of the season, it was clear that Klopp does not fancy him. Benteke, who is currently with Belgium National Team at the Euros, claimed past week that he will be considering his Liverpool future if the manager does not have him in his plans. Benteke is expected to leave Liverpool this summer. There are some rumours that West Ham are willing to pay 25 Million to attain the services of the big man.
3. Mario Balotelli:
A great talent wasted because of his own attitude. Despite being given chances at clubs like Inter Milan, AC Milan, Manchester City and Liverpool, the Italian never established anywhere because of his attitude. Balotelli used to be a very highly rated talent and at one time his market value was above 32 Million and it could have gone even higher, but soon his market value started dropping down. Now, his Market Value is on 7 Million. His lack of interest to take part in training session and lack of work rate on the pitch has cost him his career. The 25 year old was on loan at AC Milan last season and now he will be returning to Liverpool. Klopp has ordered him to take part in the pre-season training which is about to start soon. Some Liverpool fans are of the opinion that Klopp should give Balotelli another chance. This pre-season might be his last chance at a big club. He will have to step up and put some work into his game. And he will have to come up with something extra to impress Klopp. If he fails to impress, China is expected to be his likely destination.
These are three Liverpool who were expected to be better than what they are now, unfortunately they are not fit enough for Liverpool. There also some other players like Andre Wisdom and Adam Bogdan who are also not good enough for Liverpool and they will also be sold this summer.
