The Reds are looking forward to the next season under, as German manager Jurgen Klopp prepares for his first full season at the Anfield this summer. Klopp is set to make wholesale changes in the squad and has already signed Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Marko Gurijic into the squad. There are further more changes to occur at Liverpool this summer.
River Plate president Rodolfo D’Onofrio has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in signing their defender Gabriel Mercado this summer. With the release of Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel set to leave the club this summer, Klopp needs to fix up the back line and Mercado seems like the player upon whom the German has set his eyes on. Although the player’s move to the Anfield will solely depend upon Mercado receiving the work permit.
Further, according to the Daily Star, Martin Skrtel is set to leave Anfield on a three year deal with Roma. The Slovakian has also been linked with a move to the Turkish side Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas all being interested in signing the player.
Emanuele Giulianelli from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport says that the Slovakian has agreed terms with Roma.
He said: “Roma have reached an agreement for Skrtel. 3 years contract for the Slovak former Liverpool defender.”
The Reds are now ready to increase their efforts in signing Sadio Mane from Southampton this summer. The player is valued at £40m by the Saints and this is mostly to wade off interests from the Reds and so as to keep hold of the player. The Senegalese player will be receiving £125000 a week as wages if he does move to the Anfield.
