Jurgen Klopp must be relishing the tough nature of the English game and now after having eight months of experience under his belt, the German must know how to plan against the fixture congestion and all the intricacies of the Premier League. Klopp loves a tough fight and he will have many in the coming years against the likes of Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte. For the season ahead, transfers are going to play a big part and the reds are expected to sign as many as six new players into the squad with nearly the same number being offloaded from the club.
The club have taken positive steps with securing the services of Loris Karius, Joel Matip and Marko Grujic who will surely increase the quality in the side. A goalkeeper was the need of the hour and it has been addressed with the arrival of the talented Karius with Germany. Joel Matip, one of the best in Bundesliga will surely bring much needed stability at the back while Grujic is a prospect with a bright future. With all the other rumoured targets taking into consideration, let’s make a probable Liverpool lineup for the next season:
Goalkeeper: Loris Karius
The new signing promises to be a world class proposition and the fans will hope that along with his Greek God looks, he can make an impression with his football too.
Right back: Nathaniel Clyne
The ever present Liverpool’s Mr. consistent will look to provide similar performances throughout the campaign and announce himself as a senior member of this team.
Center back: Joel Matip
Matip was in the Bundesliga team of the season and the experienced defender must get settled into life in Merseyside quickly to have a similar impact in England.
Center back: Mamadou Sakho
The Frenchman is expecting a result in early July in his doping case and it is being reported that he won’t be receiving any further ban and thus, may play for the reds from the start of the season. Sakho is the best centre back that the reds have, and like Lovren and him, Matip and Sakho can become a real solid duo for the reds.
Left back: Ben Chilwell
The 20 year old Leicester full back hasn’t played a minute in the Premier League, but still the reds are expected to pay in the region of £7-10 million for the youngster. This means, the board and the manager desperately wants the youngster and like Joe Gomez in the last season, this can be the breakthrough for the exciting young fullback.
Central midfield: Jordan Henderson
The Liverpool captain has been targeted by the supporters, but there is no doubt about his abilities and can answer his critics with a stellar next season and Henderson deserves to be in the team for his work rate and his ever improving passing range.
Central midfield: Emre Can
The German has announced himself on the big stage and will look to continue his good run of form, but has to improve on his defensive abilities with Henderson not comfortable with doing the dirty work.
Left attacking: Philippe Coutinho
The Brazilian attracted interest from PSG but has since then pledged his future to the reds and Coutinho needs to step up his game and provide performances like he is capable of on a more regular basis.
Center attacking: Roberto Firmino
Firmino had a brilliant first season for Liverpool and will look to continue his good run of form next season. He is a player who is capable to reach double figure in goals and assists each season and Klopp needs that from the Brazilian if a top four spot is to be achieved come next May.
Right attacking: Sadio Mane
The Senegalese will arrive at Anfield as a big money signing as the Gotze deal has seen a dead end and there is no point in pursuing a player who does not want to come. Mane is a proven League player and is one of the best players in the league at his position and there is no doubt that Mane can prove to be a huge hit at the club.
Striker: Daniel Sturridge
Though he has a lot of doubters, Sturridge is the most talented player at the club and there is no denying the fact that when he plays, he contributes almost every game. Sturridge can compete for the golden boot if he stays fit for the whole season, and with him at the club, Klopp can surely make a team worthy of a title challenge.
