The arrival of Jürgen Klopp to Anfield has really excited the fans and the players seem like they are enjoying every minute of it. The German gaffer had a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but he did what was expected. He bought the team right back on track and we are pretty sure that almost every Liverpool fan is waiting to see the team’s performance under Klopp’s first full season in charge.
The German hasn’t wasted a minute in rebuilding the team and has completed 2 signings till date; Goalkeeper Loris Karius and defender Joel Matip. A strong personnel was a necessity for the Reds as Simon Mignolet was becoming error-prone and as Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel will be leaving Anfield, a centre back was also needed. Klopp has done his job with perfection till date.
Now, according to the report from Sky Sports, Liverpool have agreed a fee of £34m – rising to £36m with the south coast club Southampton for their star midfielder Sadio Mane. The 24-year-old Senegalese was one of the hottest prospect in the Premier League after his stunning performance last season and it was reported that both Liverpool and Manchester United were after the midfielder, but it seems like Liverpool have acquired the signature of the player, and we are pretty sure that the German manager will look to sign more faces.
So, here we give you the names of those players, who could follow Mane to the Anfield:
-
Mateo Kovacic-
The 22-year-old Croatian midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks, and the move could become a reality as Kovacic won’t be getting any first team game at Madrid, and therefore, Anfield would be the best possible destination for the player.
The player joined the Galacticos back in 2015 after spending 3 wonderful seasons with Inter. The Croatian’s game time was cut short due to the brilliance of Modric and Kroos in the midfield, and he made just 34 appearances, the majority of which came as a substitute. A fee of around £24.3 million is expected and almost every single fan is eager to see him in Liverpool’s shirt.
-
Andros Townsend-
The 24-year-old English midfielder might be looking for a move away from St. James’ Park after he failed to prevent his side from the relegation. Townsend joined the Magpies back in January 2016 and made 13 appearances, scoring 4 goals and 2 assists. It is expected that he might get tempted to make a move back to premier league and if the reports are to be believed, Liverpool are looking to sign the midfielder.
Liverpool do not have a winger on their side, who can provide width, and to fulfil that, Townsend could be the perfect man. The Englishman is just 24 and we all are aware of the fact that Klopp has a great record of dealing with the young guns.
-
Douglas Santos-
The 22-year-old is currently playing with the Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro, and is considered as one of the most promising left backs. It is obvious that Liverpool will be looking to sign a left-back to replace Moreno, and therefore, Santos would be the perfect man for the job. Douglas is quick as well as a tricky defender, who loves to move forward with the team and due to his never ending stamina, he tracks back whenever needed.
Being a 22-year-old, he has his entire career to show for, and Klopp knows very well how to utilize a youngster’s ability. He might become the best buy for Klopp in the coming season as he could easily replace Alberto Moreno at the back.
