Liverpool completes the deal to bring in Senegalese player Sadio Mane into the squad this summer. While there are many outlets reporting the same one such report suggests that the Reds were able to sign the player because Jose Mourinho and his current club Manchester United backed out of the deal for the player.
The Senegalese player completed the medical Monday afternoon and the deal worth £34m is accepted.
Manchester United have been looking out for the player earlier, however they stopped the pursuit for the player when Jose Mourinho was appointed as the new manager replacing Louis Van Gaal. Mane hence was a target for United under Louis Van Gaal and the reports from the Daily Star suggests that the 24 year old decided to join the Reds only because United stepped down.
Well, if we actually consider both the clubs, United this summer (apart from finance) are in no better position than the Reds, as both were unable to secure Champions League football and both have fallen out of the top four position and have struggled throughout the season.
