Liverpool Academy goalkeeper Ryan Fulton is set to leave on a season long loan deal at Chesterfield.

The player, who is with the Reds since the age of 11, has not made his first debut so far. He has made 13 appearances for Portsmouth during his one month youth loan deal at the club wherein he helped Portsmouth beat Oxford United and also made his FA Cup debut in the tournament against Bournemouth.

The 20 year old is now ready to head to Chesterfield as their first choice goalkeeper as the current keeper Tommy Lee is set to undergo a shoulder surgery. The player has already travelled to Hungary to join Chesterfield’s pre-season training camp.

The Scotland international was Liverpool’s third choice goalkeeper after Simon Mignolet and Adam Bogdan, after Danny Ward and Lawrence Vigouroux were sent off on a loan.
