Liverpool have so far signed three players into the squad this summer, namely Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, Loris Karius, and if reports are to be believed then the Reds manager is looking to bring more spine into his squad.
The Reds are looking out to sign Jeremy Mathieu from Barcelona. Mathieu is on his way out of the Nou Camp this summer as Barca have already brought in reinforcements for the player in the defenses.
However according to reports in Turkey, the Turkish club Besiktas are leading the race to sign the player, thus the Reds are behind in the race to sign the player.
Reports suggest that the Turkish club is already having talks with Barca for the player and are trying to sign him on a cheaper fee despite the Club’s asking price for the player being £5.9m. Further, Besiktas will be able to provide the player with Champions League football and a guaranteed regular first team football, unlike the Reds.
