Last few weeks saw Liverpool linked with Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu heavily, however according to recent reports the Reds have not tabled an offer for the player’s move to the Anfield.
According to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo report on Thursday, the Reds have not offered a bid for the player, neither have the Merseysiders shown interest of any sort for the player. While the defender has not pushed for a move out of the club despite a reduced role at the Nou Camp next season, the Reds do have a chance to sign a competent defender even though it may only be for back up.
The earlier reports linked Mathieu with the Reds reportedly started at France which the Spanish media reported adding Liverpool in the mix and now the club actually interested in signing the player is the Turkish club Besiktas, which may not work due to current situation in Turkey.
