Less than 20 days to go for the new season to kick-start and a lot has been witnessed already. The new signings are slowly getting accustomed to Anfield and the stars of last season are getting into their stride. As the season approaches to unfold, let’s have a look at five reasons why Liverpool fans should be optimistic:

  • Klopp’s first full season in-charge

The German boss came in at a tough time for Liverpool last season but still managed to leave his mark in his first season. This will be his first full season as a manager and will allow him to establish his tactics and his ways in the system. With tough competition from the rival teams in terms of tactics, it will be interesting to see how Klopp fares this season. The Kopites can’t wait to see their charismatic manager in the dugout.

  • Mane means business

Sadio Mane is touted by many as the best transfer so far and his inclusion in the squad means added pace and width. The Senagalese international is also known for his goal scoring abilities and it will be interesting to see his pairing with the Brazilian duo of Coutinho and Firmino.

  • Focus on the premiere league

The absence of European football this season might possibly turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Reds as they will have enough time to focus on the league and the domestic cups. This give Klopp a window to nurture the team properly and experiment with a few tactics. One of the major reasons for fitness and injury woes last season was the tight schedule due to the European fixtures. This respite in the fixtures can help resolve the issue for this season.

The Brazilian duo

Roberto Firmino had a very good first season with Liverpool with 11 goals and same number of assists. The Brazilian was teaming up well with his fellow country mate Philippe Coutinho in the second half of the season. It will be interesting to see how this partnership performs in this season as both have understood each other’s game and the manager’s expectations.

Attacking depth

Daniel Sturridge is completely fit and looks ready to fire as the season kicks off. He had a decent Euro tournament as well. Danny Ings is also looking in good shape at the moment. Origi had a brilliant streak last season before getting injured and if he repeats those performances for the Reds, we are sure to witness an attacking delight.
