The biggest question concerning the fans, players and most of all Jurgen Klopp is who will be the new left back in the team. Liverpool do not have a quality left back who can replace Moreno or even be an alternative for the Spaniard. Brad Smith has left the club and Joe Gomez is injured and this leaves Klopp in a situation where he has to sign a new left back. Over the last one month, many players have been linked with the club and the recent one to be linked is the 22 year old left back from PSV Eindhoven – Jetro Willems. Here is why we think that he might possibly solve the current left back crisis.

  • Fiery pace and killer crossing ability

Willems is just 22 and is known to have a good pace coupled with terrific crossing abilities. The full back is known to make runs on the left flank and be an attacking threat. He can be of good use against sides that play on the back foot and do not attack much. Klopp can leverage his attacking strength and partner him with Coutinho or Ings along the left flank.

  • A decent alternative for Moreno

Alberto Moreno is staying at Anfield as of now and Klopp wants to give him a chance with another season as per sources. The inclusion of Willems in the side would mean a quality alternative to Moreno. His defensive abilities are better than that of Moreno’s and thus considering the current scenario, he might be a good alternative for Moreno. However, there have been claims that he might just turn out to be another Moreno, but his performances in the Dutch league suggest otherwise.

  • The ease of the deal to happen

Klopp has been trying for quite some time to get his hands on either Chilwell or Hector, but both the deals are somehow looking more and more unlikely with the days passing by. This deal on the contrary, looks rather simple and the chances of it happening look better as compared to the other left back speculations. There were reports of Willems saying his fellow country mate Wijnaldum that he will see him soon. These and many more are constantly growing speculations about the possibility of this deal to happen. Nevertheless, the left back position is up for grabs and Jurgen Klopp will need to answer this concern as time is running out.
