Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently completed his sixth signing of the summer as the 25-year-old Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum has joined the Anfield side from Newcastle United. With seven signings already done, it is expected that the manager will be looking to sign more, as there are certain areas where the Reds need an upgrade.

Now, according to the reports from Metro, Liverpool are going head to head against Everton to sign the 20-year-old PSG star Presnell Kimpembe. Both the Toffees and their local rivals have displayed weaknesses at the back this season, and they may be hoping that Kimpembe is a long-term answer to these issues.

But since the rumour evolved, Liverpool signed Raganr Klavan from Augsburg, and the Estonian is well capable of doing more damage than Presnel Kimpembe. The defender, due to the lack of first team football recently said:

‘At my age, you have to play,’ said the youngster.

‘We’ll see this summer, which will be offered to me.

‘I know what I’m capable of.

‘I’ve experienced the level in Ligue  1 and I know I can play.’

Now, if the reports are to be believed, then the defender recently rejected a new contract extension offer from the French Champions. He was then approached by the fellow French side AS Monaco twice, but for the moment, PSG have absolutely no intention of letting the player leave, and due to this, it is expected that PSG will now offer an improved deal to the youngster.

Who is Presnel Kimpembe?

Well, there is not much to talk about him, but the 20-year-old started playing the sport at the age of six, and in 2005, he caught the eyes of the French Champions PSG. He progressed through their academy and majorly played for Paris Saint-Germain B. after making 36 appearances, scoring one goal, he finally was called up to play with the senior squad in 2014.

PSG’s then manager Laurent Blanc gave Kimpembe his senior debut in October 2014 in the Ligue 1 against RC Lens. He came on as a substitute to replace Thiago Motta after 76 minutes in a 1-3 away win.

Style Of Play-

The 20-year-old French U21 international is majorly known for his no non-sense defending. A tall, left footed defender is capable of operating the game as a centre back and also in other defensive positions. Thanks to his versatility and his agility, he possesses a great positional sense and that allows him to make some well-timed challenges.

“Presnel is a very professional guy. Very serious. “ PSG under 17 coach Laurent Bonadei gave his opinion about him.

“He has a very good left foot, a good sense of anticipation and is an intelligent player. He is a good member of the group, who has also participated with the U-19s at the NextGen Series and he has a good potential.”

Of course, he needs to improve his game in many departments, but he will only get better if he gets regular game time. Thanks to the brilliant for of David Luiz, Thiago Silva and Marquinhos, the 20-year-old has been able to make just 10 senior appearances for the side. Even if he comes to Liverpool, there is a least chance of him playing as a centre back because Liverpool now have many options there, but the 20-year-old could well fill the place at the left area to give Alberto Moreno a run for his money.
