The Merseyside club Liverpool have done a great business so far in the transfer market, but there still lies a chance that their manager is looking for more, and to be perfectly honest, the side still needs reinforcement in many areas of the field. The manager has permeated the confidence inside the veins of the players, and the squad is now looking stronger than ever.

The side will be facing the Emirates outfit this Sunday, but are going through some major injury issues. Senior players like Daniel Sturridge, Mamadou Sakho, and James Milner are likely to miss the showdown. Besides all of that, even after signing seven new players, Liverpool’s legend Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool are short of a first choice striker.

The former Liverpool defender said:

“I don’t know if Daniel Sturridge will be the starting striker. Divock Origi played in a lot of the big games in Europe last season and has done well in pre-season.

“Sadio Mane is a very good signing. He can play in any of the four positions in attack and it looks like he will play on the right for Liverpool.

“They lacked pace and goals from those attacking midfield positions last year but his record suggests he will fix that.

“Roberto Firmino has been praised by Klopp as the player of pre-season and he likes him as a centre-forward, so there’s no number one striker at Liverpool.”

As stated earlier, there still lies a possibility that the manager might search the market for the reinforcement. So, we are here to make his task a bit easy as we give you three players Liverpool can opt to sign to complete their succesful transfer window:

  1. Marcelo Brozović-

Marcelo Brozovic

According to the reports from the Mirror, Liverpool are the long admirers of the 23-year-old Croatian midfielder, and very recently, the same source has stated that Inter Milan are willing to listen to offers for Marcelo Brozovic. A perfect box-to-box midfielder, Brozovic, spent his previous season with Inter as a loanee from Dinamo Zagreb. He made 32 appearances for the side last term and scored four goals, further creating 49 chances.

This is no secret that Liverpool are in a dire need of a central midfielder, hence, Brozovic could definitely fit the bill. The 23-year-old is known for his versatility and thanks to that, he can perform well anywhere in the midfield. With Can playing as a holding midfielder, Brozovic could well become an engine for the squad.

  1. Fábio Coentrão-

Fábio Coentrão

This surely is a surprise name in the list, but Liverpool do need a left back, who can perform his duty both offensively and defensively. The 28-year-old Portuguese spent his previous season with the French side AS Monaco on loan and thanks to a thigh injury, he missed the most time of the campaign, but still managed to appear 15 times, scoring three goals.

The Portuguese international is known for his speed and his work rate with which, he can easily become a complete package for the young Liverpool side. With the players like James Milner and Joe Gomez injured, Liverpool now only have the services of Alberto Moreno for the left spot, and looking at his recent form, Liverpool might trouble themselves in the near future, hence, the addition of Coentrão at the Anfield could do the trick for Klopp.

  1. Mauro Icardi-

There is no doubt that the Reds do need a centre-forward, who could provide the end result swiftly. Jurgen Klopp recently stated that he is willing to give Daniel Sturridge every chance of proving fitness, but can he retain that level of fitness throughout the season? The Englishman was heavily criticized last season only because of his lack of fitness, and who knows, the same might happen.

To avoid that, Liverpool could go for Icardi, who is known for his attacking prowess. The Argentine international possesses a tactical intelligence and along with the players like Mane, Coutinho, and Firmino, goals are sure to come. Firmino has been struggling a lot lately as a lone striker, hence a player of Icardi’s stature could well do the trick.
