Likely Liverpool Line Up To Face Burnley – Countinho, Firmino And Lallana To Start

So after that seven-goal thriller at the Emirates, Liverpool will now be travelling to the Turf Moor to face Sean Dyche’s side Burnley. The red half of Merseyside gave a brilliant display last time out as their star man Philippe Coutinho destroyed Arsene Wenger’s men in their own den.

It was Gunners who opened the scoring in the fixture, but the Reds responded in style. Just before halftime, Liverpool were awarded the free-kick and Philippe Coutinho stood up to take the charge, and the Brazilian made no mistake to draw his team level at the half time. The Merseysiders changed the course of the game in the second half as they scored two goals in the span of seven minutes.

Eventually, Sadio Mane gave them the comfort, but Arsenal somehow managed to pull two goals back, but that was too little too late. With the confidence to count on, the side will march on to their second hurdle of the league.

Burnley, on the other hand, had a disappointing start to their season as they recently lost to Swansea with a scoreline of 0-1.

So, here is the predicted lineup for Liverpool, that could face Burnley with full throttle:

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

The Belgian international will surely be taking charge as Karius is still out injured. In the game against Arsenal, Mignolet made a fine save to deny Theo Walcott from the spot but was eventually beaten by the same man. There is no doubt that he needs to improve, but besides that, the defence too needs to tighten up and protect the Goalkeeper.

Defence: Clyne; Matip; Klavan; Milner-

We might see the same back line against Burnley this weekend. On the right spot; the German manager will surely be using the 25-year-old former Southampton man, Nathaniel Clyne. The Englishman struggled bitterly during the course of the first half but gained the momentum eventually. He marked an assist to his name when Coutinho turned his low cross into the back of the net.

On the left side, Liverpool do not really have many options, but recently, the side have been handed a major boost as their star man James Milner will be available for the fixture, so it is now expected that the manager will now be using the Englishman instead of the error-prone Alberto Moreno

Dejan Lovren had a tough time against Arsenal and was also cautioned for his challenge.  His marking was poor, and overall, he had a disappointing outing. With Lovren struggling, the manager might use the newcomer, Joel Matip as a partner for Ragnar Klavan, who did the dirty work for the team last time out. He was left exposed on many occasions, but he covered it up in style.

Midfield: Can; Grujic; Wijnaldum-

This three man midfield could really work wonders for the squad. Emre Can was named on the bench last time out, but the German made a cameo appearance for the side. Can isn’t the most prolific figure in the team, but his presence is something very important. With Can playing a deeper role, the manager might use the Serbian international Marko Grujic as a central midfielder. The youngster, just like Emre Can, was named on the bench but didn’t feature. But this time around, the manager might go with him.

On the other hand, the manager might again go with the new signing, Gini Wijnaldum, who will be playing a more attacking role than his two midfield compatriot. The former Newcastle man had a tough start at the Emirates, but he did mark an assist to his name.

Attacking Trio: Lallana; Firmino; Coutinho-

This trio can still work wonders in the Premier League. Sadio Mane has recently picked up a knock on his shoulder and will most probably be missing the outing, hence, the manager might deploy Adam Lallana on a more attacking spot this time. Coutinho, on the other hand, terrorised the Wenger’s side with his wonderful techniques. Coutinho scored a brace, and even Mane netted a goal to his name, but unfortunately, Firmino looked a little bit out, and maybe that was due to his positioning. He never really looks like a threat when playing as a lone striker, when as soon as Origi was introduced, the Brazilian started involving more in the thick of the events.
