So the transfer season is over and the clubs around Europe have tried their skins out to bring in some stellar names into the squad and Liverpool were no exception. The Merseyside club have done a great business so far as they have brought in seven new players, but looking at their recent form and injury concerns, it is safe to say that they still aren’t a finished article.

The Merseysiders, not very surprisingly, had a very inconsistent start to the new season, where they kicked their campaign off with a bang as they out powered Arsenal at the Emirates, but failed to do the same to Burnley and further went on to play a 1-1 draw against the North London side Tottenham Hotspur.

During these three Premier League games, Liverpool have encountered some major issues, most notably in the defensive area. Their centre backs were heavily inconsistent and on the other hand, the left back area is still an issue for the side. Furthermore, what we have observed during the course is that the defence does not really have a good cover from the midfielder, and that is one of the many reasons why they concede so many goals.

Emre Can hasn’t played a minute in in the new season of the Premier League, and his absence has been really felt during the games, as Jordan Henderson has been doing nothing but struggling to find a footing. So here, we give you three perfect players, that Liverpool should try signing in the January window.

  1. Christoph Kramer-

The 25-year-old German international is regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Bundesliga and we personally believe that under Jurgen Klopp, he could have retained his stature in the Premier League and also could help the side to reach the paramount in the 2016-17 season.

The player recently completed his loan spell with the Bundesliga side Leverkusen, with whom, he made 73 appearances (during two years of tenure), scoring 5 goals.  Yes, the goal tally isn’t an impressive one, but then again, we cannot expect anything more from a defensive midfielder.

  1. Corentin Tolisso-

A completely unknown figure for the Anfield audience. The 22-year-old French star is currently serving the League 1 side Lyon and till date, he has 117 senior appearances to his name and 16 goals to his credit as well.

He is known to change the course of the game with his wonderful reading of the game and besides that, he loves to play some threatening long ball, which Liverpool can really use while launching the counter attacks. His sheer dedication for the sport is taking him to the new heights and we personally believe that he would be a great fit for the manager.

  1. Mattia De Sciglio-

Mattia De Sciglio

The 23-year-old Italian international was constantly linked with the move to Anfield during the past couple of months, but nothing has been materialized. De Sciglio had a great time during the European Championship and was one of the brightest prospects for Italy. He is currently playing for AC Milan and looking at Liverpool’s defensive issues, a move could be on the cards.

Mattia is known for his versatility as he is capable of operating the game from both the flanks with the same efficiency, hence, he could easily fill the left back area to cut James Milner’s misery. Being an Italian, the 23-year-old is known for his perfect reading of the game and also for his techniques, both on and off the ball, so it is safe to say that he is a sole upgrade for both Alberto Moreno and James Milner for the left spot.
