Liverpool were targeting the German playmaker Mario Gotze throughout the summer, but the former Jurgen Klopp employee ended up joining Borussia Dortmund instead.
There were some heavy claims that the Merseysiders were closing in to complete the deal, but unfortunately the deal never materialized. Mario Gotze has been dating model and singer Ann-Kathrin Brommel for a number of years now.

Brommel started her modeling career aged 15 and appeared in Germany’s seventh circuit of Next Top Model back in 2012. Brommel is her own woman. She recently told GQ Magazine: “Someone whose purpose in life it is to be the wife of [someone] I can not understand. Although I am also the girlfriend of Mario Gotze, but I have my own personal goals I want to achieve. Otherwise I could not be more happy.”
Brommel says that she lives a normal life with World Cup winner Gotze, telling The Daily Mail: “We watch movies all day, go to the cinema and eat all the time, we are very lazy.”
The model also revealed that her partner is handy in the kitchen, saying: “He can cook very well, better than me, it is perfect.”
It had been thought that former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp could have tempted Gotze to Liverpool in the summer but he opted to remain in Germany.
Brommel has pursued a career in music and has released two singles: “This is me” in 2011, and “Body Language” in 2012.
She has worked with brands such as Maybelline, Diesel, Braun, AXE and Philipp Plein during her modelling career.
