Manchester United Legend Gary Neville praised Liverpool’s impressive 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Friday evening at Stamford Bridge.
The Reds played a mouth-watering football and completely dominated Antonio Conte’s men in front of their supporters. The Croatian defender, Dejan Lovren, opened the scoring for the Reds and Jordan Henderson’s thumping strike doubled their lead.
Chelsea striker Diego Costa did pull a goal back in the second half, but the Anfield outfit managed to hold the lead till the end. Speaking on Sky Sports after the final whistle, former Manchester United defender Neville said:
“It’s a big, big night. You see the pride he’s got, Jurgen Klopp.
“They were fantastic in the first half and by far the better team. I think what will please him most is how they resisted and managed the game in the last 20 minutes when you thought Chelsea would come on strong.
“Liverpool just looked quicker and brighter.”
The win lifted Liverpool up to fourth place in the Premier League table and level on points with Chelsea after their third victory of the campaign.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remained in third place and on 10 points ahead of this weekend’s full round of Premier League fixtures.
