After thrashing the newly promoted side, Hull City, by five goals to one, the Merseyside club – Liverpool – will now be preparing for the next showdown of the Premier League.
Left-back James Milner scored the brace for the side against the Tigers, while Coutinho, Lallana and Mane also marked their name on the scoresheet. With that being done, a trip to Swansea City has been scheduled for the Merseysiders in the upcoming weekend.
Against the Tigers; the new arrival from Mainz, Loris Karius, was handed his debut but the German international too failed to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League for the Reds. The 23-year-old also featured against Derby in the EFL Cup last week but again was hardly called upon in the 3-0 victory at Pride Park.
And now, the manager himself has admitted that Karius will again be featuring for the side against Swansea so he can get a better look at the Germany U21 international.
“He can play against Swansea again, I already spoke to the goalkeepers, they know it,” Klopp said.
“We had a game at Derby, what can I do? He did not have 500 balls, just two or three balls. Against Hull, I’m not sure, not too many balls.
“Of course to understand how a player reacts in situations you need the games.
“We don’t have the games in the week so we do it on the weekend and then at a specific point we can make a decision.
“I know the goalkeeper position is different than the centre-half position for example. I know this and I respect this so we’ll see.”
