The weekend saw a lot of great action in the Premier League. The biggest talking point was the loss that Manchester City suffered. The Sky Blues were comprehensively beaten by Tottenham and it did close the gap to the league leaders.
Liverpool also celebrated a victory but they had to work hard for the win. It was Leroy Fer who scored the opening goal for Swansea. But Liverpool came roaring back in the second half. The Reds had Roberto Firmino to thank for the equaliser in the second half.
The Reds then won a penalty thanks to the Brazilian and James Milner scored the game-winning goal. Klopp’s men moved two points behind Manchester City and seem set to battle for the crown.
There have been a number of great stats that prove Liverpool have been on the right track this season. And Klopp does look set to bring Liverpool their first Premier League title. The Independent.IE found loads of numbers that show Liverpool are the team to watch out for this season.
Although there are a number of positives for the Premier League club, Jurgen Klopp does have a lot of issues. The Reds might be great in attack but they have been weak in defence. Klopp’s side have not kept a clean sheet all season and were poor in the first half against Swansea as well.
The Reds have been sloppy in conceding goals from corners and set-pieces, something that Klopp really has to work on.
There will be a lot of eyes in the next game that Liverpool play in the league. The Reds will be facing Manchester United at Anfield on October 18. Manchester United have not been at their best this season either but they do look a better unit under Jose Mourinho than under Louis van Gaal.
If Liverpool play the attacking football they showed against Chelsea and Leicester City against Manchester United, they should win the match easily. But if they aren’t giving 100%, they could be on for a rather unbelievable loss against a side that hasn’t been firing on all cylinders this season.
Klopp has a tough task on his hand but he could be the one that ends up celebrating over their fierce rivals.
